My professional philosophy is to give exceptional care and attention to both objects and clients. For the objects, historical integrity and value are preserved through conservation treatments that not only meet high academic standards, but also provide the best possible appearance. For the client, proposals and estimates are clear and exact with affordability and practicality in mind. Communication and logistics are friendly and easy.
I received my Master’s Degree from the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture in 1989. My years at Winterthur taught me the joy of discovering historical data embedded in objects, encoded not only as engraving, carving, and signatures, but also as dents, breaks, and poor repairs. I am privileged to spend my days with leading curators, researchers, and collectors, providing quality conservation treatments and analysis informed by decorative arts connoisseurship.
I offer clients the advantages of several worlds. I am a serious conservator dedicated to providing the very best treatments and to upholding strict professional ethics. I have advanced connoisseurship skills that provide superior understanding of the object’s design, history, and intended appearance. I am motivated by a respectful passion for the objects themselves, compelling me to do my very best for them and for their owners. That includes offering exemplary service and scholarship at competitive prices.
